What is MND-SU-NSW
This observational, non-interventional study will run from July 2025 to July 2027 and aims to identify new cases of MND in New South Wales. Participants will be invited through their General Practitioner (GP) to take part in a one off 30-45 minute telehealth consultation with their GP and a neurologist, arranged securely through REDCap. During the consultation, participants will discuss MND symptoms, family history of MND or dementia, and treatments received. If the neurologist suspects MND, the participant will be referred to an MND clinic for further assessment as part of routine care. The study focuses on identifying incident cases of MND to determine its incidence and prevalence, with no additional tests or interventions included in the design
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be residents in New South Wales
- Patients must be identified by their primary healthcare professional with MND symptoms
