MND Australia is recruiting for two new positions

We are currently recruiting for a National Policy and Advocacy Manager and a Policy Officer – Development. National Policy and Advocacy Manager

This new ongoing position at up to four days per week (0.8 FTE) will be responsible for delivering key parts of the MND Australia strategic plan including advocacy, government relations, policy and issues management particularly in the health, aged care and disability areas by:

  • developing progressive and relevant advocacy and issues management initiatives as identified by MND Australia and the State MND Associations
  • developing, implementing and evaluating advocacy strategies, to enable MND Australia policy propositions to be adopted
  • providing strong advocacy and government relations including development of key messages and policy, engagement of key decision makers, the newly-established Parliamentary Friends of Motor Neurone Disease group, education and awareness raising, networking and capacity development.

Policy Officer – Development

This new 12 month three day a week position will be responsible for increasing MND Research Australia’s funding and other revenue to increase MND Australia’s influence and impact by:

  • strengthening the development infrastructure including a major giving strategy, a bequest program, and a donor management and engagement strategy
  • identifying government, philanthropic and other grant funding opportunities and writing compelling grant applications
  • contributing to the development of persuasive and detailed cases for support, impact reporting, proposals and other necessary collateral as required in relation to MND Australia’s/MND Research Australia’s priorities
  • identifying research donor prospects and developing a pipeline of potential high-value donors and bequestors
  • contributing to strengthening relationships with current research donors and bequestors to maximise their engagement and support of MND Research Australia’s work including its soon-to-be completed Research Strategy 2022-2025
  • support the CEO in the delivery of MND Australia’s Strategy and related priorities.
